The American Indian / Alaska Native Cancer Information Resource Center and Learning Exchange (Native CIRCLE) exists to stimulate, develop, maintain, and disseminate culturally appropriate cancer information materials for American Indian / Alaska Native educators, healthcare leaders, and students.

Who We Are:
The American Indian / Alaska Native (AI/AN) populations have very high incidence rates for specific cancer sites and poor survival rates for most cancers. The AI/AN Leadership Initiative on Cancer addresses comprehensive tribal cancer control.

David Perdue MD MSPH, a physician with Minnesota Gastroenterology P.A. and member of the University of Minnesota Masonic Cancer Center appeared live on TPT's Public Televisions' public relations and news program 'Almanac.' He discussed the findings from the most comprehensive study on the incidence of cancer in American Indians and Alaska Natives to date, as to be published in the September 1st issue of the journal Cancer currently available for free download at

Dr. Perdue splits his time between clinical work at Minnesota Gastroenterology, Plymouth MN, and research on gastrointestinal cancer disparities in American Indian and Alaska Native populations. He co-chairs the Minnesota Colorectal Cancer Task Force as well as the Minnesota Intertribal Colorectal Cancer Council and has active research projects with tribes in Alaska, Washington, and Minnesota.
